Synopsis: Lin Fan recruits walking clichés to save his sect—unless their surname is Tang. Then it's exile.
Lin Fan leads a dying sect with nothing but pride, grit, and a totally sane set of recruitment rules:
1. First dibs if your last name is Xiao, Ye, Shi, or Lin.
2. Bonus points if you talk to rings or any magical trinket.
3. Survived three major disasters and have a secret fiancée? You're in.
4. Got ditched at the altar and your parents disappeared? Perfect.
5. Showed up to the sect and instantly got harassed? Welcome home.
The more tragic your backstory, the better.
One day, the Fifth Elder bursts in, thrilled. “Sect Master! We found someone rejected in love, talks to his ring, and his parents are gone!”
“What’s his name?”
“Tang.”
“…Tang? Never mind. Send him to the rival sect with a smile and a gift basket. I’m entering closed-door cultivation. Nobody disturb me. Guard the manuals.”
Fifth Elder: “…What just happened?”
